2025-06-08  ITF Tournament

Hi Everyone! Once again the KTC will be hosting the  International Tennis Federation (ITF). The ITF is a very prestigious event for our club. It takes a lot of planning, plus volunteers to make it successful. I am looking for club members to volunteer during the ITF which begins Saturday, June 28th and runs until Saturday, July 5th. The job description is very simple! You would wear a volunteer badge and be available to answer questions &/or concerns from visitors.    The main activity would be: Walk the outside grounds Be mindful of any persons that may be hanging in the area Pick up trash Check the washrooms for supplies  Change the garbage and recycling, if necessary  The shifts will be arranged between the hours of:  10:00 am to 4:00 pm with each shift being 2 hours in length. If you can help by volunteering 2 hours of your time, please respond to this email. I’ve set up a schedule on a clip board in the office where you can sign yourself to a shift(s). Friday Night Social: Thank you to everyone that participated in last Friday night’s Summer Social. The tennis portion was great fun and the social evening was lively and entertaining!  For the next Social we want even more participation from our members and guests!

2025-06-08 FROM the CITY:

Please note that 7th Avenue (at Lorne Street) is planned for closure for construction for the Lorne Street Rail Improvement project. The closure should last 3 days while the construction crew reshapes the existing subgrade around the rail track. As of now, this is scheduled for June 16th-18th but this may change.    Please ensure to follow the detour along Front Street to 8th Avenue. Please share this info with anyone that may need it. Those requiring access to Pioneer Park and the parking lot will also follow the detour. Traffic control personnel will be on site to assist traffic/pedestrians.   Thank you and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.     Susan Magill, M.A. Comm (she/her) Capital Projects Liaison | City of Kamloops  Linda Webber KTC Office Manager

2025-06-11:   COURT WASHING

We are looking for volunteers to come and help wash courts 4 to 8, next Wednesday, June 18th.  Courts 1 – 3 were washed this morning, thank you, Norm, Gerhard and Ross!, and those courts are a beautiful blue again, so now we need to get the others spiffed up, not only for our members and guests, but for the ITF tournament that will begin June 28th If you can lend a hand, please notify Norm Monteith at: nmonteith@shaw.ca or respond to this email

2025-05-30:   SINGLES LADDER

This is a last call for players to get signed up for the Singles Ladder which begins this Monday, June 1st. If you have signed up, but haven't paid your registration fee yet, then please do before Monday. NOTE: There will be very limited clubhouse hours for this Sunday, May 31st, so tomorrow, Saturday, would be your best opportunity to either get registered, or to  pay your fee.

The list of players to contact, in order to set up matches, will be posted on the bulletin board in the clubhouse. Take a photo so you have the list available. Have fun with this!

2025-05-30:  GATE LOCKS

Who ever is the first person to unlock a lock from a court gate is responsible for LOCKING that lock back onto the gate. Locks are NEVER to be left on a gate in an open position. Parents of juniors: Please share with your junior(s).Yes, I realize the lock wouldn't be of any use to the person that takes it BUT... that has never stopped anyone from taking something that doesn't belong to them.  If everyone could heed this plea by simply checking the gates locks to ensure they are as they should be, then together we can make this work and keep our courts safe.  Plus, locks are expensive to replace!!

2025-05-28 SINGLES LADDER

This Saturday, May 31st, is the cutoff, so respond to this email if you want to get in on the fun! Please: The entry of $15 fee must be received by the office be received by the office before June 1.

2025 05-28: LETS GET SOCIAL!

2025-05-28: J30 ITF JUNIOR TOURNAMENT

June 28th to July 5th , The J30 ITF Tournament is once again returning to the KTC! This tournament is an International event showcasing players from around the world, and what great viewing it is!! It’s also a prestigious event for us, the hosting club! Some of these players may go on to greater heights in the tennis world, so this could be your opportunity to see some “up and coming” stars! Save these dates because we would really like to encourage our members and guests to come down and view some outstanding tennis – plus, just to simply cheer the players on. Because we all need encouragement to perform at our best!!
